I agree with you.
I also have a question.
Do the anti-union forces think that when the last of us union members are gone will the clouds part and sunshine bring everlasting peace on earth?
I for the life of me cannot understand why they waste what little political capitol they have on right-to-starve legislation.

I DO make a distinction between private and public labor and do not support public unions. If the contractors who employ me fail I don't have a job. Self controlling. Gvt employees don't have the same feedback loop.

I dont think Unions should be abolished but they need to reign in the thugs or get a rude awakening.I had guys threaten to burn our bulldozer on a job in Florida and also burn our friends crane because we werent union. The Guidos met our Florida Cracker friend Dave who owned the crane with bats. They sucked a old Colt 38 like it was their boyfriends dick and never came back. That stupidity will get someone shot.At 36.50 an hr in 79 I wasnt starving. When the economy was decent my average was 40-50 an hr working by myself doing floors.Ive owned several homes, boats, bikes, ultralight aircraft, lots of guns, and nice crew cab 4x4 trucks every 2 yrs without a unions help.I know the unions original intent was to protect workers from being abused financialy and to negotiate wages but lately they just seem to be the lefts muscle. The guys on video smoking pot and drinking then going back to work doesnt instill confidence in the union ways either.Smell like dope, booze or stink on my job and time and your ass is fired.

Government unions should be outlawed period. If a steelmill has a union the company, regardless, still has to work within a budget or close the doors. Police, firemen, teachers, and whatever the fed union is seem to just say what they want and no problem, just raise taxes. If it keeps going the only reasonable carrier choice for anybody under 30 is anything in government. We are already now a socialist country like it or not, it's just scares me we are still sliding down this hill.

Unfortunately some of the other unions dont shut their doors they get taxpayer paid bailouts!Buddy of mine is retired out of a south Florida SO.He is walking away with 85K a year retirement. His best 5 years averaged over a 122K which they based his retirement on.Problem being they are having a hard time finding ways to pay for retiring city employees and the ones hiring on now. They need a FAIR wage and retirement but it has to be sustainable without hurting the taxpayer. My beef is when the unions resort to violence or show up late to a fire to get their way.Extortion is a crime no matter how you color it.
