Cruising Outpost

This is, at least, the fourth version of a/the forum populated by this happy family. We just started this version, so a lot of us are talking trash with 35 posts under our belt....well, in my case about 20.000 or so since.....well since I can't remember.

So, I apologize that it all seems a little weird, and in a word.... its is.

Welcome to all newcomers.

It does seem a bit odd. Was used to everyone's names, avatars and stats. Now a few have taken new handles and only a few avatars in sig lines.

I first signed up in Dec of '06 I believe. Back then sailing was a memory of my youth. My wife had never been sailing. We were just forming the dream of sailing away some day.

Since then we set a date, met Bob and Jody at a few Strictly Sail shows, met and sailed w/ wonderful people from the board, bought a boat, sold our house and most of our possessions (though not enough yet), moved our boat to a yard in the Keys, and now live aboard while we are in re-fit. Also bought an old 26'er to mess around on till ours is ready.

We owe a lot of our success to Bob and the people we have met, and/or received advice from, on the board. Looking forward to more of the same.

Okay, I have a quick question. I've noticed two different urls for the forum, depending on how I get here. The one I'm looking at now which I got to through the main page is "cruisingoutpost.com / forum-old/". However, sometimes I end up at "forum.cruisingoutpost . com" but it appears to have the same content. Are both pointing to the same location?

Gosh , the offshoot "others" was that long ago - I cant for the life of me remember what started that - but who cares - I been here more than 10 years

Been here longer than I thought. I remember all that. For a time Grok and i did the morning show at the offshoot site.

In fact the first "person" to reply to my first post on the old board was he of which we don't speak. Yep he was bashing everything from where I lived to my board name. Good times!!
