I think the better question is how high is your cockpit combing ABOVE the water line?

The cockpit combing is 36" above the water line. I started to think (easy now) of how important is it to have the cockpit drains be above the water line? Granted a wave may not or could come over the cockpit combing (now how fast does it drain) verses the distance (weight of the water in the cockpit) to drain out.

I know I may be over thinking this point now.

 It's a piece of...well junk..trash..crap are all to nice of a words to describe my feelings towards it. it's like the cheap $2 whore of engines, and in some areas it would have been publicly executed by now. I'd trust a crack head and a broken oar to get me across the atlantic, long before I trust the Ass-4 to push me out of the slip. If I could have gotten it out and off the property I'd would have traded it for a running outboard with all the controls in the cockpit.

Bill, it's a mechanical device. There is a purely logical reason why it's acting up. A logical comprehensive analysis will yield the cause.
